The Quilt & Fiber Art Emporium will be held at the Hickory Metro Convention Center April 30- May 2, 2010
in Hickory, North Carolina. Join Marianne Fons from "The Love of Quilting" for this weekend
filled with fun, education and creativity. Marianne Fons, Bernina Educators, Quilt Shops
and Artisans will dazzle you with the art of their craft.

The weekend will include classes, lectures, demonstrations, a vendor mall and a large display area of quilts,
crafts, fiber art and other handmade items. The vendor mall will consist of shops, national vendors, trunk shows,
and charity booths. Plan to come for the day or all weekend. You can choose the package that works best for you.

Intro to Corel Draw Essentials 4 with Bernina Embroidery Software
Corel Draw Essentials has provided a whole new world of ideas and creativity that can be used with the Bernina Embroidery Software. Explore the tools and design possibilities that we now have at our fingertips with this new addition to the software. Bernina Plus Version 6 will be used for this class.

A B C’s of Digitizing
The easy way to learn to digitize is by utilizing all of the features of the software to make your job as easy as possible. Start from scratch or use a picture as a backdrop. We’ll explore the tools that are at your fingertips and learn to combine them while creating a design. Bernina Plus Version 6 will be used for this class. This class will be limited to 25 students.

Bernina Software V 6.0 for the Quilter

Quilters can learn to use the V6 Embroidery software to plan a quilt using familiar blocks or learn to create a new block that is all their own. Either way, the planned quilt design can be combined with embroidered quilt designs so the quilting can be done in the hoop. Bernina Plus Version 6 will be used for this class. This class will be limited to 25 students.

4-Patch Stacked Posies

Make a gorgeous quilt using only ONE print fabric for the blocks and border! In this informative class, Terri will demonstrate how easy it is to create a 4-Patch Stacked Posies block. With this easy yet stunning pattern, you can create a masterpiece. Size of the quilt will depend on the 'repeat' of your fabric choice, but we've found most make a good size bed quilt. Machines will be provided.

Paintstiks

Paintstiks have been used by artists for many years and are a form of oil paint in stick form.
They are versatile, easy to use, and permanent when set properly, and do not change the “hand” of fabric. Paintstiks are great for embellishing quilts, garments, and home dec items. At the end of this workshop you will have 3 fat quarters ready to make a table topper for valentines and one you may use in the fall. This class will be limited to 25 students.

Eve’s lecture demo is a must for anyone who likes embroidery or bobbin work. This lecture
will cover the basic set-up for free motion. It will cover the two basic thread painting techniques:

Free Motion Quilting: Mission Possible 1
In this class you will learn some tips and techniques from an award winning quilter.
Bring a UFO so we can brainstorm on how you might quilt it. We will have workstations so you can
experiment on different patterns of free motion quilting. Kay will help you learn to set you machine for free motion and how to relax to get a great result.

Quick Embroidered Pillowcase :

In this class, you will learn some really fun techniques that you can apply to this quick and easy pillow case or to any embroidery project you would like to do. We will first talk about how the embroidery was created then we will actually do the border embroidery using the border feature on the Bernina 830E. After the embroidery is completed we will sew the pillow case and you will leave with a completed embroidery project that you will be proud of.
